Ripe Banana Sabji ( Pakke Kele ki Sabji ) is a delicious sweet and sour dish, takes only few minutes to prepare.

Ingredients
  • 3 – 4 ripe bananas ( pakke kele )
  • 1 – 2 green chili ( fine chopped )
  • 5 – 6 curry leaves
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • Pinch of turmeric powder ( optional )
  • ½ tsp red chili powder or according to taste
  • Salt according to taste ( approx. ½ tsp )
  • 2 tsp oil
  • Lemon juice according to taste
  • Coriander leaves ( fine chopped)
Instructions ( 1 cup = 250 ml, 1 tbsp = 15 ml, 1 tsp = 5 ml)
  1. Peel the ripe bananas, chop them into medium thick slices and keep it aside.
  2. Immediately heat the oil in non stick pan or kadai.
  3. Add mustard seeds when oil is medium hot.
  4. When mustard seeds starts to splutter add fine chopped green chilies and curry leaves.
  5. Saute for 30 seconds. Add turmeric powder.
  6. Immediately add chopped bananas. Mix well.
  7. Add red chili powder and salt. Mix well.
  8. Cook for 2 minutes and your ripe banana sabji is ready.
  9. Turn off the flame. Add lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves.
  10. Notes
You can also cook this ripe banana sabji during fast. If you do not have turmeric during fast then just remove it from ingredients.
