Adrak wali Chai or Indian Ginger Tea is an aromatic concoction of freshly brewed Tea leaves infused with grated/crushed ginger root simmered with milk & sugar and served hot immediately.

Ingredients
  • Water - ¼ cup
  • Full cream milk - 1 ½ - 2 cup
  • Ginger - 2 inch
  • Tea / chai patti - 2 tsp
  • Sugar - 2 - 3 tsp, according to taste
Instructions ( 1 cup = 250 ml, 1 tbsp = 15 ml, 1 tsp = 5 ml)
  1. In a saucepan, add water.
  2. Add tea leaves / chai patti.
  3. Let it come to boil.
  4. Meanwhile, peel the ginger.
  5. Slice it and smash it in mortal - pastel or crush it using pincer. ( see the video )
  6. Add into boiling water.
  7. Let it boil on a slow flame for 4 -5 minutes.
  8. Add sugar according to taste.
  9. Add full cream milk.
  10. Let it come to boil.
  11. Stir in between.
  12. Again let it boil on a slow flame for the next 4 -5 min or until done.
  13. Strain and serve hot with your favorite tea time snack !!
