Coconut Ladoo is a traditional Indian sweet recipe that you can easily make for any festival or occasion.

Ingredients
  • Desiccated coconut - 1 ¼ cup or 100 gm
  • Fresh Khoya - ½ cup or 100 gm
  • Sugar - ⅓ cup or 80 gm
  • Water - ¼ cup
  • Cardamom powder - ⅛ tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 2 pinches, optional or food color
  • Desiccated coconut - ¼ cup, for coating
Instructions ( 1 cup = 250 ml, 1 tbsp = 15 ml, 1 tsp = 5 ml)
  1. In a non-stick pan, add khoya.
  2. Roast on a slow flame for 2 - 3 min.
  3. Khoya will start to meltdown at that stage turn off the flame.
  4. Turn off the flame.
  5. Add desiccated coconut. Mix well.
  6. Remove in a plate/bowl.
  7. Add sugar and water to a pan.
  8. Cook until sugar melts.
  9. Continue cooking until the syrup starts to boil.
  10. Let it boil for one minute.
  11. Make sugar syrup of one thread consistency.
  12. Turn off the flame.
  13. Add cardamom powder and turmeric powder.
  14. Mix well.
  15. Add khoya and coconut.
  16. Mix well. Let it cool down for a while.
  17. When the mixture is lukewarm, make ladoos out of it and roll them in dry desiccated coconut.
  18. Same way prepare all ladoos.
  19. Store in an airtight container for a couple of days and enjoy it.
  20. For longer shelf life refrigerate it.
