Hey Foodies !! Happy new year !! Let’s start this new year with everyone’s favorite recipe with a healthy twist - A whole wheat pizza base Recipe !!

Ingredients
  • Whole wheat flour / aata - 2 cup
  • Instant dry yeast - 1 tsp
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp
  • Olive oil - 1 tsp and more for greasing
  • Salt - 1 tsp
  • Oregano / Chili flakes / Garlic powder - for seasoning, optional
  • Water - ¾ - 1 cup, as per need
Instructions ( 1 cup = 250 ml, 1 tbsp = 15 ml, 1 tsp = 5 ml)
  1. In a mixing bowl, add ½ cup of lukewarm water.
  2. Add yeast and salt.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Cover and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
  5. After 10 minutes mixture becomes, bubbly and frothy.
  6. If there is no activity in yeast water, yeast is not alive.
  7. Add more ¼ - ½ cup of water, salt, and olive oil.
  8. Mix altogether.
  9. Add 2 cups of whole wheat flour.
  10. Combine everything with a spatula.
  11. Dust the working platform with dry flour.
  12. When flour is well combined, transfer the dough to a working platform.
  13. Knead the dough well for 5 minutes.
  14. Add more water to get a smooth and soft dough.
  15. Make soft dough like phulka roti dough.
  16. Make a firm ball out of it.
  17. Transfer in a greased bowl.
  18. Gently coat the dough with olive oil.
  19. Cover the bowl and keep it aside for 2 hrs at room temperature.
  20. After 2 hours, the dough must be more than doubled in size.
  21. Punch the dough and release the air.
  22. Divide dough into 3 equal parts.
  23. Make a ball and roll it out in a 6” - 8” circle.
  24. Pork it 6 - 8 times using a fork.
  25. Bake in a preheated oven for 12 - 15 minutes at 180-degree temperature.
  26. Same way prepare all 3 pizza bases.
  27. Once completely cooled down, wrap them and store them for further use.
