Let’s welcome this summer with very delicious and yummy homemade cool faluda. Faluda is equally popular all over india specially in Delhi and Mumbai. Faluda is very healthy and cools the body with special ingredient named takmaria ( basil seed ).

Faluda Recipe

Step wise recipe :

Step 1 : Soak 1 tbsp sweet basil seeds in enough water for 30 min. Once they will get soft drain extra water if needed.

Step 2 : Chop faluda sev before cooking if needed. Cook them as per instruction given on packet. If you are cooking the sev, then cook them same as noodles, once cooked rinse it in water, drain and keep aside. Let them cool.

Step 3 : Slice the almonds and pistachios.

Step 4 : In 4 glasses each add 2 tbsp rose syrup. If you want more sweet taste add more syrup. Add syrup according to your taste.

Step 5 : Add 2 tbsp soaked sweet basil seeds.

Step 6 : Gently add 2 tbsp faluda sev.

Step 7 : With the help of the table spoon pour ½ cup milk. While adding make sure the layers should not get mixed.

Step 8 : Top with one scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Step 9 : Garnish with 2 tbsp mixed nuts and rose petals.

  • 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 8 tbsp rose syrup
  • ½ cup mixed nuts ( sliced pistachio, sliced almond, cashews and golden raisin )
  • Few rose petals for garnishing.
Instructions ( 1 cup = 250 ml, 1 tbsp = 15 ml, 1 tsp = 5 ml)
