Banana chips are low in sodium and cholesterol, hence it is healthy option for snacks. If making banana chips at home, ensure that you use good quality unripe raw bananas.

Always store chips in air tight containers and ensure that no moisture reacts with these chips. If not stored properly, chips become moist and will not remain crisp any more. If banana chips do not remain crispy because of any reason, just microwave it for 1 min and enjoy it.

Step-by-Step Banana Chips Recipe :

Step 1 : Heat oil for frying.

Step 2 : When oil is medium hot.

Step 3 : Peel one banana only.

Step 4 : Hold the chip slicer on the top of the kadai.

Step 5 : Directly slice the banana chips into kadai. Do not over crowd chips in kadai.

Step 6 : Stir with a wired spoon so that the slices don’t stick to each other.

Step 7 : The banana chips would change the color and it will become crispy too.

Step 8 : Transfer banana chips on to paper towel to soak access oil.

Step 9 : After few minutes transfer banana chips in to bowl or container. Sprinkle salt and black pepper powder according to taste. Mix well.

Step 10 : Same way make the chips from remaining raw bananas.

Step 11 : When they are completely cooled, store banana chips into air tight container.

Note : While selecting banana for chips, always select small or medium size banana, so you can make chips of one banana at a time. Raw bananas should be hard enough.

Ingredients
  • 4 fresh raw banana
  • Salt and freshly crushed black pepper according to taste
  • Oil for frying
Instructions ( 1 cup = 250 ml, 1 tbsp = 15 ml, 1 tsp = 5 ml)
  1. Heat oil for frying.
  2. When oil is medium hot.
  3. Peel one banana only.
  4. Hold the chip slicer on the top of the kadai.

  11. After few minutes transfer banana chips in to bowl or container. Sprinkle salt and black pepper powder according to taste. Mix well.

Alternate Method :
  1. Slice the banana chips into water first.
  2. At the time of frying take out them on kitchen napkin.
  3. Dry them. Then fry the banana chips in medium hot oil.
  4. Rest of the instructions will be same.
