Presenting peanut butter paratha ..! One more recipe for peanut and paratha lovers! Really! Today in this mist monsoon morning I thought why not try stuffing peanut butter instead of regular butter in a paratha, and guess what..! I had the most tasty, flakiest, tender and crispy, melt-in-the-mouth paratha ever! After all how can I ever have this a peanut butter parathas without chocolate? Not possible! I opted for a healthy chocolate dip with peanut butter parathas, kids will surely love this. Make peanut butter with this step by step recipe.

Step 1 :Combine flour, salt and oil in a bowl.
Step 2 :Gradually add water and kneed a soft dough of paratha.Keep it aside for 10 min.
Step 3 :Divide a dough into 24 – 26 equal portions.
Step 4 :Heat tawa on medium flame.
Step 5 :Meanwhile Take one part and make a ball of dough. Flatten the ball using palms.
Step 6 :Roll into 15 cm diameter size of paratha. Same way roll another paratha.
Step 7 :Now on any one paratha spread 1 tbsp peanut butter evenly.

Step 8 :Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon powder if you want.Step 9 :Cover it with another paratha.

Step 10 :Gently press the size of paratha using finger. Now with the help of fork make a design on the outer border of paratha.

Step 11 :Put one side on hot tawa. Tawa should be medium hot.Step 12 :You will soon see the peanut butter paratha puffing up from the base at some places.

Step 13 :Flip the peanut butter paratha when the base is ¼ cooked.

Step 14 :Flip again when the second side is about ½ cooked. You will see brown spots now.

Step 15 :Spread some ghee/oil on this side now.

Step 16 :Flip again a couple of times till you see more brown spots and the peanut butter paratha is cooked evenly.

Step 17 :Make all peanut butter paratha this way. Either serve them hot or stack them in a roti basket.

  • 12 – 13 tbsp peanut butter
  • Brown sugar ( optional )
  • Cinnamon powder ( optional )
  • Oil for cooking
  • Dry flour for rolling

  • 5 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 ½ - 1 ¾ cup water or according to need
  • Salt according to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil
