Paratha is one type of Indian flat bread in which different stuffings are added. If you are thinking to include some healthy greens in breakfast, then Spinach paratha or Palak paratha is excellent variation. Palak paratha is specially good for children who are usually not fond of spinach. This delicious and nutritious parathas tastes great with yogurt and mango pickle ( Aam Ka Achaar ).

Ingredients

  • Salt according to taste ( approx 2 - 2½ tsp )

Instructions ( 1 cup = 250 ml, 1 tbsp = 15 ml, 1 tsp = 5 ml)
  1. Heat a small pan and dry roast the carom seeds and cumin seeds. Cool and blend in a mixer to a fine powder. Keep aside.
  2. Combine the flour, onions, spinach, coriander and green chilies, salt, pepper powder, oil, and prepared powder in a deep bowl and knead into a soft dough using little water.
  3. Divide the dough into 15-16 equal portions and roll out each portion into a circle of 15 cm diameter, using the flour for rolling.
  4. Heat a tava and cook each paratha, using little oil, till golden brown spots appear on both the sides.
  5. Serve hot spinach paratha with curd or pickle of your choice.
