Preparing strawberry crush is lovely idea as in India we get fresh strawberries for very short period of time. It’s very easy to prepare and store strawberry crush for long time. This strawberry crush recipe did not use any preservatives however you can use Sodium Benzoate for the preservative if you want to store for a longer period.

Prepare this fresh Strawberry crush and use as toppings and in mocktails.

Serves: ¾ cup
  • 1 cup strawberry ( fine chopped )
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 – 4 drop lemon juice
  • A pinch sodium benzoate
Instructions ( 1 cup = 250 ml, 1 tbsp = 15 ml, 1 tsp = 5 ml)
  1. Wash the strawberries properly, fine chop them and keep aside.
  2. Combine sugar and water in heavy bottom non stick pan.
  3. Boil the syrup to make a one thread consistency.
  4. Add strawberries and stir occasionally.
  5. If you want to keep it for a longer period in the refrigerator add a pinch of sodium benzoate to the boiling mixture. ( optional )
  6. Add lemon juice.
  7. When the mixture thickens, off the flame and leave the mixture to cool out fully before you bottle it.
  8. Enjoy with ice-cream or make delicious mocktails.
